Maybe you are a budding photographer who is hungry for studio lighting tips and wants a course for Xmas. It might be that you understand your camera but want to go to the next level with studio photography but don’t know how. My courses are one to one, fun and relaxed, tailored to your needs and your skill set. Each course is designed to not overwhelm or feel difficult, but to enrich your love of photography.
A bit about me; I have bags of knowledge from 23 years working as a Professional Photographer in Portraiture and advertising then running my own Studio Photography Business. I’ve serviced giant National and International companies such as John Lewis, Greggs and Heineken with shots of products, buildings and people. I have been shooting on SLR cameras since the 1980’s as a teenager, processing in lab darkrooms into the 1990’s and shooting digitally since the early 00’s. My Art education began at Newcastle College then a BA(hons) in Graphic Design from The London Institute of Art in 2000. My studio knowledge crosses both portraiture and advertising so no object, face nor pet is a challenge! (my mistake- I learnt many years ago that cats hate photo studios!)
My 3 hour lesson plans can be tailored to your level of knowledge and skill set and to the areas you need support with. I can devise a lesson plan tailored to your needs if you drop me a line with your requirements. Studio Photography Course
For my Studio Photography Courses you or your gift recipient will already have a good knowledge of their camera and want to broaden knowledge using a studio with lighting kit. The course will offer the option of using my camera or yours together with my studio lighting flash heads in my studio space with an infinity backdrop, coloured gels or colour rolls. You can choose from a number of themes including diffusing light, how to shoot tethered to computer or some basic kit advice. For more details see the flyer below or get in touch with questions.
Camera Photography Lessons
My Camera Photography Courses give you the confidence to shoot on manual settings and leave ‘auto’ as a distance memory! I can advise on the basics of ISO, F-stops /Aperture and Shutter Speeds and how to balance the three in an area of photography you’d like to learn.
iPhone Photography Course
This course is to give you great results with your iPhone that look like a professionally shot image. There are limitations with iPhones but there are also settings that allow you to capture strong well executed images and video with edit facilities within. If you have an android phone I can teach you about the basics of composition and learn the way to make the best of light, so get in touch to discuss a tailored lesson plan.
